Neste estudo, cateteres m\u00e9dicos feitos de diferentes materiais polim\u00e9ricos foram estudados utilizando o Nanovea 3D Non-Contact <a href=\"https:\/\/nanovea.com\/profilometers\/\">Profil\u00f4metro<\/a> para medir a rugosidade da superf\u00edcie, a morfologia e as dimens\u00f5es. A rugosidade superficial \u00e9 crucial para os cateteres, pois muitos problemas com cateteres, incluindo infec\u00e7\u00e3o, trauma f\u00edsico e inflama\u00e7\u00e3o, podem ser ligados \u00e0 superf\u00edcie do cateter. As propriedades mec\u00e2nicas, como o coeficiente de atrito, tamb\u00e9m podem ser estudadas observando-se as propriedades da superf\u00edcie.
