Il contatto del processo di usura \u00e8 totalmente racchiuso in un grande forno che assicura una temperatura uniforme e stabile intorno al campione e al materiale di contrasto durante la prova di usura. La coppia termica \u00e8 impostata in modo da essere molto vicina al punto di contatto o da toccare direttamente il dorso della sfera all'interno del supporto della sfera stessa, per ottenere la massima precisione nella lettura della temperatura. Il forno rimovibile consente agli utenti di eseguire altri tipi di test aggiungendo moduli supplementari. L'esclusivo design del dissipatore di calore sull'albero principale del motore rotativo rende sufficiente l'alimentazione d'aria per il raffreddamento dell'elettronica nell'involucro inferiore durante la prova di usura a 1200\u00b0C. La cella di carico \u00e8 autocalibrata per le alte temperature per garantire dati accurati.
