Ci\u00f2 garantisce un'elevata accuratezza e dati precisi sul tasso di usura. I tassi di usura del perno e del campione possono essere calcolati anche in base al volume di materiale perso, misurato con un AFM o un profilometro ottico. La modalit\u00e0 lineare con misurazione dell'attrito \u00e8 possibile con la tavola motorizzata x-y standard, mentre il test rotativo richiede l'aggiornamento della tavola rotante.
