Il cambiamento di profondit\u00e0 viene registrato con precisione durante il test utilizzando un condensatore di precisione. Il tasso di usura viene calcolato con queste informazioni. I tassi di usura per il perno e il disco possono anche essere calcolati dal volume di materiale misurato con un AFM collegato o un profilometro ottico. La modalit\u00e0 lineare con misurazione dell'attrito \u00e8 possibile con la tavola standard motorizzata x-y, mentre i test rotativi richiedono l'aggiornamento della tavola rotante.
