D\u00e9velopp\u00e9 \u00e0 l'origine par un min\u00e9ralogiste allemand, Friedrich Mohs, en 1820, le test de duret\u00e9 par rayure d\u00e9termine la duret\u00e9 d'un mat\u00e9riau aux rayures et \u00e0 l'abrasion dues au frottement d'un objet pointu.<sup>1<\/sup>. L'\u00e9chelle de Mohs \u00e9tant un indice comparatif plut\u00f4t qu'une \u00e9chelle lin\u00e9aire, une mesure plus pr\u00e9cise et qualitative de la duret\u00e9 par rayure a \u00e9t\u00e9 mise au point, comme le d\u00e9crit la norme ASTM G171-03.<sup>2<\/sup>. Les mat\u00e9riaux, en particulier les polym\u00e8res, se ramollissent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement \u00e0 haute temp\u00e9rature. De nombreuses d\u00e9faillances m\u00e9caniques sont dues \u00e0 la d\u00e9formation par fluage et \u00e0 la fatigue thermique qui ne se produisent qu'\u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures \u00e9lev\u00e9es. L'amas de mat\u00e9riau sur les bords de la piste de rayure se forme lorsque le stylet se d\u00e9place \u00e0 une charge constante de 2 N et p\u00e9n\u00e8tre dans l'\u00e9chantillon de t\u00e9flon, poussant et d\u00e9formant le mat\u00e9riau dans la piste de rayure sur le c\u00f4t\u00e9.<\/p><p>Les traces de rayures ont \u00e9t\u00e9 examin\u00e9es au microscope optique, comme indiqu\u00e9 sur la FIGURE 2. La largeur des traces de rayure mesur\u00e9e et les indices de duret\u00e9 de la rayure (HSP) calcul\u00e9s sont r\u00e9sum\u00e9s et compar\u00e9s dans la FIGURE 3. La largeur des traces de rayure mesur\u00e9e par le microscope est en accord avec celle mesur\u00e9e \u00e0 l'aide du profileur NANOVEA - l'\u00e9chantillon de t\u00e9flon pr\u00e9sente une largeur de rayure plus importante \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es. La largeur de la trace de rayure passe de 281 \u00e0 539 \u00b5m lorsque la temp\u00e9rature passe de RT \u00e0 300oC, ce qui entra\u00eene une diminution de la HSP de 65 \u00e0 18 MPa.<\/p><p>La duret\u00e9 par rayure \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures \u00e9lev\u00e9es peut \u00eatre mesur\u00e9e avec une pr\u00e9cision et une r\u00e9p\u00e9tabilit\u00e9 \u00e9lev\u00e9es en utilisant le tribom\u00e8tre NANOVEA T50. Il offre une solution alternative aux autres mesures de duret\u00e9 et fait des tribom\u00e8tres NANOVEA un syst\u00e8me plus complet pour des \u00e9valuations tribo-m\u00e9caniques compl\u00e8tes
