Parce qu'il n'est n\u00e9cessaire de coller plusieurs images pour couvrir de grandes surfaces, la technique confocale chromatique peut mesurer avec pr\u00e9cision en quelques secondes ces propri\u00e9t\u00e9s en plus de d\u00e9tecter les d\u00e9fauts locaux.  Avec le HS2000, la plan\u00e9it\u00e9 de la surface peut \u00eatre mesur\u00e9e sur toute la surface de 400x500mm avec moins de 1micron de d\u00e9viation en un temps tr\u00e8s court.  Il est \u00e9galement possible d'obtenir le meilleur polyn\u00f4me qui correspond \u00e0 la forme qui d\u00e9crit la variation par rapport \u00e0 la plan\u00e9it\u00e9 de la surface.
