Le contact du processus d'usure est totalement enferm\u00e9 dans un grand four qui assure une temp\u00e9rature uniforme et stable autour de l'\u00e9chantillon et du contre-mat\u00e9riau pendant l'essai d'usure. Le couple thermique est r\u00e9gl\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re \u00e0 \u00eatre tr\u00e8s proche du point de contact ou \u00e0 toucher directement le dos de la bille \u00e0 l'int\u00e9rieur du porte-bille afin d'obtenir la meilleure pr\u00e9cision possible de la lecture de la temp\u00e9rature.
