Posee un recubrimiento de pol\u00edmero biodegradable y biocompatible que libera el medicamento de forma lenta y continua en la arteria local para inhibir el engrosamiento de la \u00edntima y evitar que la arteria se vuelva a obstruir.<a href=\"#_edn1\" name=\"_ednref1\"><\/a> Una de las principales preocupaciones es la delaminaci\u00f3n del recubrimiento polim\u00e9rico que lleva la capa liberadora de f\u00e1rmacos del sustrato met\u00e1lico del stent. Para mejorar la adhesi\u00f3n de este recubrimiento al sustrato, el stent se dise\u00f1a con diferentes formas. Concretamente, en este estudio, el recubrimiento polim\u00e9rico se encuentra en la parte inferior de la ranura de la malla met\u00e1lica, lo que supone un enorme reto para la medici\u00f3n de la adhesi\u00f3n. Se necesita una t\u00e9cnica fiable para medir cuantitativamente la resistencia interfacial entre el recubrimiento polim\u00e9rico y el sustrato met\u00e1lico.
