Dado que no es necesario realizar un ensamblaje para superficies grandes, la t\u00e9cnica confocal crom\u00e1tica puede medir con precisi\u00f3n en segundos estos aspectos, adem\u00e1s de detectar defectos locales.  Con el HS2000, se puede medir la planitud de la superficie en toda el \u00e1rea de 400 x 500 mm con una desviaci\u00f3n inferior a 1 micra en muy poco tiempo. Tambi\u00e9n es posible obtener el polinomio que mejor se ajusta a la forma que causa la desviaci\u00f3n en la planitud de la superficie.
