Cada longitud de onda se enfocar\u00e1 a una distancia diferente, creando el rango de medici\u00f3n vertical. Cuando una superficie de inter\u00e9s se encuentra dentro de ese rango, una sola longitud de onda de la luz blanca estar\u00e1 enfocada, mientras que todas las dem\u00e1s estar\u00e1n desenfocadas.
