El cambio de profundidad se registra con precisi\u00f3n durante la prueba utilizando un condensador de precisi\u00f3n. La tasa de desgaste se calcula con esta informaci\u00f3n. Las tasas de desgaste del pasador y el disco tambi\u00e9n se pueden calcular a partir del volumen de material medido con un AFM o un perfil\u00f3metro \u00f3ptico acoplados. El modo lineal con medici\u00f3n de la fricci\u00f3n es posible con la mesa motorizada x-y est\u00e1ndar, mientras que las pruebas rotativas requieren la actualizaci\u00f3n de la mesa giratoria.
